More FM hosts Si & Gary want to "move on" from last week's high-profile prank, which saw them interviewing a man they wrongly believed was Tom Cruise for over ten minutes on air.

The Edge personalities Jay-Jay, Dom and Randell orchestrated the trick interview as a joke but have since apologised after it ended in tears and humiliation.

The apology has been accepted.

"Things were very raw on air... we were embarrassed, but feeling a lot better now," a post on the Si & Gary Facebook page reads.

"We are really keen to move on from this and find the real Tom Cruise."

The post was credited to the show's producer Samantha Baxter, who could be heard weeping loudly during the prank.

"I have been in contact with Simon and personally apologised and he has replied. We both had a good discussion and I understand how he felt at the time. I asked for his forgiveness and he gave it to me," Jay-Jay said in a post on Facebook.

"I have also messaged Sam, who I adore. I was having a few wines with her at the radio awards just last week, so of course I feel horrible for upsetting her like that."

Back on air this morning, Simon said he'd had a "quiet weekend, nothing going on".

Meanwhile, a $5000 bounty is still on offer for anyone who can make a chat happen between the real Tom Cruise and Simon.
