Reese Witherspoon expects loyalty from her longtime friends on and off set.

The Louisiana leading lady from HBO’s new dark comedy series “Big Little Lies,” is reportedly outraged with co-star Nicole Kidman for her failure to help promote the show, while instead, talking up her time on another film, “Lion” during a recent press interview.

“Reese is furious that Nicole hasn't done more to support ‘Big Little Lies’ ... all she's talked about in interviews is ‘Lion’” a source told the Daily Mail. “Had Reese known that Nicole would put the show so far on the backburner, she would have cast some random.”

“Big Little Lies” premiered back in February, and received extraordinary ratings with viewers in Australia, while its expected success in the United States turned into a flop.

“It doesn’t matter if it’s well received in Australia — it’s not a big enough marketplace to justify another season,” an insider told celebrity news and gossip magazine New Idea.

Apparently, the supposed fallout between the famous gal pals wasn’t the first time they experienced tension within their relationship.

The magazine alleged Kidman told her team to “keep Reese away from her” during Oscars events last month, while suggesting the downfall of the show could conclude the pair’s business ventures together.

"They were always all smiles for the cast and crew, but there were definitely some tense arguments.”

A rep close to Reese and Nicole said the sticky situation won’t stay serious for long, telling the Daily Mail, “They love each other and they love the way each other works.”

A request for further comment by the Daily News from both actress' reps were not immediately returned.
