After splitting in 2013 after eight illustrious years could this be the sign we've been looking for that signals Girls Aloud might give things another shot?

If Nadine Coyle has anything to do with it, yes it will!

Speaking on the red carpet at the Specsavers Spectacle Wearer of the Year Awards on Tuesday night, the songstress said she was open to teaming up with Celebrity Big Brother winner and former bandmate Sarah Harding as they both work on new material.

She said: "Why not? We sung together for years. If we're allowed to, why not?"

It's no secret these two have remained the closer members of the band, post-split, with Nadine throwing her support behind Sarah's CBB appearance.

Now as the 32-year-old debuts new music it could be the perfect time to bring the five-piece back together again.

Blessing us with the freshness of new single Get To Work on Lorraine this week, viewers were quick to grab their pitchforks, accusing the singer of miming live on air.

This is why we can't have nice things.

She thanked everyone for their nice messages before adding: "And yes, I was singing live, I am very flattered some of you thought otherwise."

She said: "It was funny! Especially because it was so early in the morning, it so clearly sounded like it was live. I didn't even listen to it back.

"It's a compliment. It's just what real singing sounds like, and people aren't used to that anymore."

Hailed, by Lorraine, as "the voice of Girls Aloud", Nadine had previously made an attempt at a solo career in 2009.

Still, with Cheryl at home busy teaching baby son Bear how to speak Spanish , fans will probably have to wait a little while longer for their much hoped for reunion.
