Emmerdale spoilers follow.

Emmerdale's Harriet Finch will become further embroiled in the Jamie Tate storyline next week.

Harriet was asked to look into the situation this week as her ex-partner Will Taylor approached her with Gabby Thomas's theory that Jamie is still alive.

In next week's episodes, Gabby starts to change her mind as the pieces of evidence behind her suspicions begin to be debunked.

A sheepish Gabby admits to Will that she might have shot him for no reason, as well as sending Harriet on a wild goose chase.

After hearing this, Will starts to regret asking Harriet to look into the mystery. Gabby remains hopeful that Harriet may still be able to find something.

Later, it seems that Gabby was right to be optimistic, as Harriet approaches Will with a significant update.

Harriet chats to Will on Main Street, telling him that there is reason to believe that Jamie is still alive after all.

Is it only a matter of time before the villagers manage to track Jamie down? Plus, how long can Will keep this a secret from Jamie's mum Kim?

The Jamie drama began for the villagers last September, when he accidentally drove his 4x4 into a lake.

Rescue teams searched for him, but later called off their hunt and told Jamie's loved ones that he was likely to be dead.

Viewers were kept in the dark for several weeks, but the truth was revealed on screen in early November when we saw that Jamie was alive and well.

Jamie was seen at the house of Andrea Tate's mother Hazel, celebrating the fact that he'd managed to escape from Home Farm and Kim's influence.

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV and streams on the ITV Hub.
