It was the worst-kept secret of Sunday night's (July 16) season 7 Game of Thrones premiere. But that didn't stop Ed Sheeran from joining the rest of the us in freaking out about his cameo as a singing solider in the Lannister army. The longer-than-you-imagined scene in which he shared some rabbit and blackberry wine with superfan Maisie Williams (Arya Stark) found Ed singing a campfire song.

"For hands of gold are always cold/ But a woman's hands are warm" crooned Sheeran's unnamed young soldier. It was a fun Easter egg, and Ed seemed to be stanning over it just as much as the rest of the Sheerio nation. The singer posted a series of pics from set and his living room during Sunday night's airing, which crashed HBO's website due to the flood of traffic.

Ed also posted a picture from set in which he's mugging with Williams and episode director Jeremy Podeswa that inspired at least one hilarious comment amid the nearly one million likes. "The club isn't the best place to find a lover, so the forest is where i gooo ;)"

He also shared a short video in which super-producer Benny Blanco watches the show and gives his three-word review.

Sheeran wasn't the only star watching on Sunday night. Jennifer Lopez also got hyped about the action.

You know who else thought it was fire? Nelly.

Christina Perri dove deep in her tweet, weighing in on Cersei's all-black everything outfit.
