Brauerei-Diebels-Str. 1, 47661, Issum, Germany

Diebels was privately owned from 1878 until 2001, when the brewery was taken over by global drinks giant InBev. The Düsseldorfer Alt is the brewery’s most famous brand and is sold all over Germany. Other, newer brands include a pilsner and a cola-blended beer called Dimix.

Diebels Alt

beer style: Altbier
alcohol content: 4.9% ABV

Roasted malt aromas harmonize with a sweet caramel taste; the finish is slightly bitter from hops.

Diebels Pils

beer style: Pilsner
alcohol content: 4.9% ABV

The full-body, light bitterness, and malt aromas are typical of a pilsner, as is the dark golden color.
