Shakespeare Brewery

61 Albert Street, Corner of Wyndham & Albert Streets, Auckland, New Zealand

Owned by former All Black Ron Urlich, this well-known Victorian city center pub was New Zealand’s first new-generation brewpub. Shoe-horned behind the bar, the cramped brewhouse is ably manned by long-serving brewer Barry Newman. The pub offers nine beers and occasional seasonal specialties in various styles.

King Lear Old Ale

beer style: English Old Ale
alcohol content: 8% ABV

Full-bodied ruby hued brew, with orange, toffee, and chocolate notes. Long, floral, hop-driven finish.

Puck’s Pixil(l)ation

beer style: Belgian Grand Cru Style
alcohol content: 11.1% ABV

A rich, heady golden brew with typically Belgian clovelike phenolics, sweet malt, and floral hops.
