Four Peaks

1340 East 8th Street, Tempe, AZ, 85281

Little surprise that UK-inspired beers make up a good proportion of the many award-winners here. A retired brewer from Young’s in London helped fledgling brewmaster Andy Ingram when Four Peaks opened in 1996. Later, Paul Farnsworth, who began working in the breweries of Burton-on-Trent when he was 16 years old, consulted on quality control.

beer style: Scottish Ale
alcohol content: 6% ABV

Richly malty, with caramel emerging on the palate. Complex, with just a hint of smokiness.

8th Street Ale

beer style: Best Bitter
alcohol content: 4.5% ABV

Particularly mellow on cask, with caramel and light fruitiness matched with earthy hops, giving way to a medium-bitter finish.
