David Geary has followed a traditional English model since the brewery sold its first beer in 1986, focusing on a core range of beers (originally just two) and serving the New England region. Geary’s still makes only five regular and three seasonal beers.

Brewing secret

Geary’s uses yeast from Ringwood Brewery in the UK.

Hampshire Special

alcohol content: 7% ABV

Complex balance of slightly burnt caramel, light fruits, and warming alcohol. Traditional bitter finish.

Pale Ale

alcohol content: 4.8% ABV

A showcase for Ringwood yeast, fruity with some underlying caramel, just a bit slick over the tongue.
