US - Hale’s

DK PublishingDK Publishing 2/07/2014 DKBooks

4301 Leary Way Northwest, Seattle, WA, 98107

First opened in western Washington State in 1983, Hale’s Brewery has been a fixture in Seattle since 1995. Its English-inspired pub adjoins a “display production” brewery (visible behind glass, with mirrors on the ceiling to show the foamy fermentation in open-top vessels). Hale’s sells 75 percent of its beer within 10 miles (17 km) of its brewery.

Pale American Ale

beer style: Pale Ale
alcohol content: 5.2% ABV

Nods towards the UK, with rounded biscuit malt. Well-balanced by citric, earthy Northwest hops.

El Jefe Hefeweizen

beer style: Hefeweizen
alcohol content: 5.2% ABV

Hale’s doesn’t only do English styles. This is brewed in the Bavarian manner: cloudy, with banana fruity, yeasty character, and light cloves.
