Long Trail

Junction Route 4 and 100A, Bridgewater Corners, VT, 05035

Long Trail Brewing is a promoter of “EcoBrewing.” Among other measures, it uses only two gallons of water for each of beer made (compared to an industry average of 6:1). Although the regional brewery leans heavily on its flagship Long Trail Ale, it continues to broaden its range with seasonal beers.

Long Trail Ale

beer style: Altbier
alcohol content: 5% ABV

Deep copper, smooth malt aromas, and hop spiciness, but without the hop bitterness of German altbiers.

Double Bag

beer style: Strong Ale
alcohol content: 7.2% ABV

Tastes like a stronger version of Long Trail Ale, particularly rich in caramel and chocolate. Earthy, somewhat pungent, hops.
