Although Michigan Brewing was one of the state’s biggest breweries before it bought the defunct Celis brand from international giant Miller, it is now best known for that range of beers. Belgian in style, they were first created by Pierre Celis (brewer of the original Hoegaarden beer) after he moved to Texas. Celis even helped brew the first batches made in Michigan.

Celis White

beer style: Witbier
alcohol content: 4.25% ABV

Cloudy, coriander-spicy, with citrus all the way through, wheat tartness, and a soft finish.

Mackinac Pale Ale

beer style: Pale Ale
alcohol content: 5.5% ABV

The brewery flagship, golden-orange, not quite pale, with substantial malt fruitiness. Earthy and citrussy American hops.
