514 South 11th Street, Omaha, NE, 68102

Since opening in 1996 as part of an “unlinked chain” started by Wynkoop Brewery, Upstream (a translation of the Native American name for Omaha) has gained independence, opened a second pub, and brewed varieties of beers not previously found in Nebraska.

Brewing secret

Developments include barrel-ageing, and the use of wild yeast.

Batch 1,000 Barley Wine

beer style: Barley Wine

Caramel and vinous on the nose and palate, blending with lively fruity esters. Rich, almost chewy, palate.

Grand Cru

beer style: Belgian Strong Ale

Aged for a year in oak wine barrels. Earthy and woody nose, delicate citrus and honey on the palate, ultimately balanced.
