Step 1 Lie facedown on the mat with your arms and legs straight, abs tight.
Swimming: Step 2
Step 2 Simultaneously, raise your right arm and left leg off the floor while keeping your hips stable.

Step 3 Lower your leg and arm.
Swimming: Step 4
Step 4 Lift the left arm and right leg off the floor.

Step 5 Lower both the arm and leg.

Step 6 Lift both arms and both legs and hover them over the floor.

Step 7 Alternate your arms and legs, paddling in a quick pattern as if you're swimming.

Progressions & Variations

Beginner Tips

While lying facedown, pull your navel off the floor as if there's a small ball under your stomach. Aim for a sensation where your fingers and toes are lengthening and pulling away from each other.
