Negative Sit-up: Step 1
Step 1 Sit on the floor in the top of a Sit-up position with your knees bent to 90 degrees. Hold a dumbbell against your chest.
Negative Sit-up: Step 2
Step 2 Tighten your abs and lower your torso as slowly as possible towards the floor, resisting the urge to speed up the closer you get to the ground. Return to the top position once you reach the floor.

Progressions & Variations

Tips

Don't lower your body fast. Use your abs to move slowly and resist the downward movement

Don't lose a natural head position. Keep your head in line with your body.

As you curl back up, avoid rounding your upper back.
