Step 1 Hold a barbell across your upper back. The bar should rest on the top of the traps. Sit on an exercise bench and place your feet flat on the floor.

Step 2 Hinge forward by bending at your hips. Stop just before your chest touches your thighs. Return to the starting position.

Tips

Don't round your lower back at the bottom of the movement.

Don't lose tightness as you sit on the bench. Keep your abs braced.

Don't round your upper back at any point during the exercise.
