Sun Salutations with Backbends

Expand upon the basic routine.

Sun salutations are typically performed at the beginning of a yoga routine as a warmup for the whole body. This series of moves links your breath and movement with rhythm, bringing you into a more meditative state. The backbending variation in this sequence also works to open your hips and back, increasing flexibility and mobility.

Safety Warning

Always move at your own pace. Take breaks in child's pose whenever you need or want them. If you have knee sensitivity, place a blanket where your knees will fall, or stick with the basic sun salutation.
