The chain is trialling a new soy-based dish in Finland, and it’s pretty exciting news for vegans all over the world.

Rather than the usual meat and sauce found in standard McDonald’s burgers, the ‘McVegan’ featured a soy-based patty, with salad and a new vegan McFeast dressing.

The dish is being tested in the city of Tampere in Finland between October 4 and November 21. There’s no word yet on whether the McVegan will become a permanent item on the McDonald’s menu, although vegans will be hoping successful trails will see the product rolled out across the UK.

McDonald’s Finland released a picture of the McVegan on social media, and it looks pretty much identical to a standard burger.

100% vegaaninen McVegan vain 3 €, saatavana Tampereen McDonald's-ravintoloista huomenna 4.10. klo 10.00 alkaen! Mättö kuuluu kaikille. #mcvegan #vegan #whatveganseat
