Sometimes, however, the fates smile upon you.

Or Burger King does.

The hugely popular fast food chain recently declared in an advert that they would be giving away free Whoppers.

Not just for a limited amount of time, but for LIFE.

However, before those saliva glands go into overdrive and you hotfoot it to your nearest BK, back up a second - there is some smallprint.

You need to have a specific surname.

"Parilla." If it doesn't sound all too familiar, that might be because it's a Spanish name meaning "grill."

Embattled Parillas the world over have had to endure all sorts of bad puns and mockery involving their name. The sort of thing anyone called Wiener has to endure.

Burger King believe the offer will help ease the pain of anyone who's had to put up with a lifetime of rubbish jokes.

"We are proud to belong to the Parrilla family for more than 60 years," Burger King Argentina marketing director Lucina Cabrejas said in a statement to AdWeek , "and the best way to put it is by recognising for life those who bear that surname."

So we take it back. There is such a thing as a free lunch. But you need to be called Parilla. And live in Argentina, ideally.
