A crafty Australian mum has revealed how she created a chic industrial-style kitchen trolley using cage shelves from Kmart.

Taking to Facebook, the woman said she'd used four of Kmart's 'shelves with cage', black cable ties and $4 wheels from Bunnings to fashion the one-of-a-kind unit.

Her post, which has been seen by thousands, has not only seen commenters praise the mum for her efforts, but some have also said the item looks as good as a designer item which costs hundreds more.

'Holy s---! This sells for $659 on Ishka. Well done.' wrote one person.

Further down the post, the mum said she used the cable ties to hold the shelves in place and added wheels so it could be easily moved.
