Central London provided the romantic setting as David Beckham prepared to 'marry' stunning Chinese model Angelababy on Tuesday afternoon.

But real wife Victoria needn’t worry - the retired footballer was only fulfilling his latest promotional commitment on behalf of lavish Chinese hotel the Londoner Macao ahead of its grand opening.

With cameras ready to roll, Beckham, 44, looked appropriately dapper in a smart black tuxedo, matching bow tie and crisp white dress shirt as he prepared to film another commercial for the ambitious, London inspired project.

The former Manchester United, Real Madrid and England midfielder beamed as he joined model, actress and singer Angelababy on the bustling London set.

The Shanghai born star, real name Angela Yeung Wing, looked incredible in a strapless ivory white bridal gown with a delicately cinched waist while preparing to 'exchange vows' with the married icon.

Drawing her hair into a tasteful bun, Angelababy, 30, exuded bridal elegance as the pair waited alongside a traditional red Double Decker bus, its destination plate bearing the words 'Invited Guests Only.'

The pair were latest showered with confetti as extras rushed in the congratulate them on their 'nuptials' during a particularly lively scene.

In keeping with the advert's use of iconic British imagery,  the group were dressed in colourful retro outfits that appeared to reflect London's vibrant swinging sixties heritage.

Elsewhere extras dressed as members of the The Queen's Guard idled close by, with one revealing a distinctive green mohican after removing his tall fur cap.

While filming his latest ad the former sportsman also shared a video of himself introducing Angelababy to fish and chips.

Sampling the British dish while sat at the rear of their bus, Beckham explained that he would generally indulge in fish and chips with his family 'every Friday.'

'It's just a tradition,' he explained to his perplexed co-star. 'We would get it wrapped in newspaper, an old newspaper, and then you'd get the chips and the fish wrapped in that.'

While the model admitted she liked the British staple, Beckham was left red faced after struggling to pronounce 'fish and chips' in Mandarin - Angelababy's native tongue.

Beckham was on hand to shoot the ad as part of his role as brand ambassador for luxurious 5-star hotel The Venetian Macao and by extension its Macao based owner, Sands China Limited - a subsidiary of Las Vegas Sands Corp.

With the Sands group spending a reported $1.1billion on rebranding its Sands Cotai Central (SCC) into London themed hotel The Londoner Macao, British icon Beckham has been recruited to shoot a series of commercials around the capital.

Drawing inspiration from iconic London architecture, The Londoner Macao will include a facade modeled on the Palace of Westminster and Houses of Parliament.

It will also include 200 shops, three spas and four health clubs among its numerous leisure facilities.

The hotel is expected to open in 2020.
