We've barely recovered from Mary Berry revealing that we've been making spaghetti bolognese wrong our whole lives - and now Gordon Ramsay has entered the fray.

The grumpy telly chef has made his feelings plain on something that has divided pizza fans since the dawn of pizza topping.

He of the wrinkled brow might have just redefined what should proudly adorn those tomato, cheese and dough-fests forever.

Forgot your Hawaiian next time you order in – Gordon doesn't believe fruit belongs anywhere near our favourite food.

In response to one Twitter fan begging the chef to allow "creativity and initiative" in pizza-making, Gordon crushed him by tweeting: "Pineapple does not go on top of pizza."

The famously ill-tempered chef left no room for bargaining with his blunt statement, and no amount of persuasion could change his mind.

While some of his fans were left open-mouthed in shock, others celebrated the downfall of the flighty fruit.

"THE KING HAS SPOKEN. IT'S OFFICIAL," tweeted one excited follower.

"My favorite part about pineapple on pizza is when I feed it to my dog," said another, sassily.

A third was particularly pleased with Gordon 's pronouncement, adding: "Finally, someone who has sense."

But others were bitterly disappointed, with one telling the chef he was from hereon "cancelled".
