The Age Of Happiness

Vladimir Yakovlev, a Russian photojournalist, created the photo series 'The Age Of Happiness' hoping to change our ideas about what life is like after 70, 80, 90 or even 100. Vladimir explains it is an international project that aims to change the usual perception of life after retirement and promote positive aging. He traveled around the world searching for people who have discovered newfound hobbies and pleasure in their older age. On his travels, he met some extraordinary characters who enjoy each day and inspire others to make their lives equally fulfilling. Vladimir listened to their stories and took photos of them enjoying their favorite activities or particular way of living. He and his 14 subjects hope that this will allow others to change their attitude towards this period of life, and strive to see it as an age of happiness and new discovery.
