It was meant to be worn by Thomas Markle, as he accompanied his daughter down the aisle at Windsor Castle.

But the suit Meghan had made for her father to wear on her big day, never made it off the hanger.

Until now, that is.

The smartly cut 'semi-bespoke' three-piece made by Oliver Brown, was recently spotted on PR guru Johnno Spence, who wore the outfit to Ascot, while sitting just yards away from the Duchess of Sussex.

Mr Spence is well-known in the horse racing world and is believed to have purchased the suit for half-price, as well as several other items Meghan had personally commissioned for her father.

These include three shirts with size 18 collars and double cuffs, in blue yellow and white, a navy blue weekend suit, a single-breasted waistcoat and a set of tails, all in size XL.

Mr Markle was unable to attend the wedding due to health reasons.

His cancellation followed reports that he had colluded with paparazzi to stage a series of photos of him being measured for a suit in Mexico.

A source told the Mail Online: "When Johnno walked in the tailor said 'we've got the perfect morning suit for you as well as a summer suit and three shirts if you want them.

"He said they were made for Mr Markle for the Royal Wedding but obviously he never came over to pick them up.

"He said that with a few adjustments, they'd fit Johnno like a glove - and they did."

Mr Spence paid £,2000 for the items of clothing and proudly wore the suit to Ascot.

Established 35 years ago, Oliver Brown is the official tailor of Royal Ascot, where a top hat and tails are compulsory wear for Royal Enclosure guests.

The company was approached for comment, but declined.
