Ballots open today for the first 10 KiwiBuild homes in Wanaka.

Two-hundred and eleven homes will be built over the next two years as part of the Northlake development.

The first 10 include four two-bedroom and six three-bedroom standalone homes. They will be priced between $565,000 and $650,000.

The Government wants to build 100,000 'affordable' homes in the next decade.
