Judith Collins has plunged to number 19 in the National Party's caucus rankings while Shane Reti and Chris Bishop have kept top roles.

New leader Christopher Luxon announced his caucus reshuffle on Monday after taking over the top job from Collins, who was ousted in a vote of no confidence last week for demoting her rival Simon Bridges without first consulting with the caucus.

Collins, who just a week ago was top-ranked, now holds the 19th spot and will be spokesperson for research, science and technology. Former deputy Shane Reti, however, is ranked much higher at 5th, has kept his health portfolio, and taken the Pacific Peoples role from Collins.

Chris Bishop, who was stripped of his role as Shadow Leader of the House by Collins, has been given it back by Luxon. He will be ranked 4th behind Bridges, and will also continue as COVID-19 spokesperson.

Nicola Willis, who was previously ranked 16th under Collins, had already been confirmed as deputy leader and thus ranked 2nd under Luxon. She will keep the housing portfolio.

Luxon had also already confirmed that Bridges would be spokesperson for finance and infrastructure and would be third-ranked. Bridges' previously held justice role is picked up by Paul Goldsmith, who once held finance but lost it after major errors were discovered in his economic plan ahead of the election.

Erica Stanford has shot up the ranks to number seven thanks to her effectiveness as immigration spokesperson. She keeps the role under Luxon and also picks up education from Goldsmith.

More to come.
