Steven Adams has produced another double-double to help the Oklahoma City Thunder beat the San Antonio Spurs 95-91 and pull ahead 3-2 in their NBA play-off series.

Adams scored 12 points and pulled in 11 rebounds during his 35 minutes on court as OKC closed to within one win of taking out the Western Conference semi-final.

It was the third time in the series that the New Zealand centre had reached double figures in both points and rebounds.

Star guard Russell Westbrook led the way for the Thunder, with 35 points, 11 rebounds and nine assists.

Forward Kevin Durant contributed 23 points as the visitors rallied, having trailed by 13 points at one stage.

It was a second successive defeat on home court for San Antonio, who dropped only one match there in the regular season.

The Spurs now have to beat OKC on the road on Friday (NZT) to take the series into a deciding seventh game.
