Ah Van signs new deal with Widnes

NZ NewswireNZ Newswire 12/04/2016

Former Warriors winger Patrick Ah Van has signed a new two-deal deal with Widnes Vikings, keeping him at the Super League club until the end of 2018.

The 28-year-old, who played 54 times in a four-year spell at the Warriors, joined Widnes in 2012 after a season at Bradford Bulls.

The goalkicker has scored 386 points for the Vikings and was quick to extend his stay.

"When the club approached me to re-sign I was only ever really going to sign here," he said. "During my four years here I have come to think of Widnes as home."

Widnes coach Denis Betts says Ah Van is a real club man.

"Pat is a strong and well thought of member of the squad. His try-scoring record speaks for itself.

"He contributes so much on the field but is also invaluable for his outstanding contributions supporting our off-field community work."
