New Zealand will play arch-rivals Fiji in the semi-finals of the Las Vegas Sevens after whitewashing England 19-0.

The All Blacks Sevens turned to their veterans for the impressive quarter-final win, with captain DJ Forbes crossing in the first spell before Tim Mikkelson bagged a second-half double.

Fiji hammered Canada 31-12 while the other quarter-finals resulted in tight wins for South Africa over Australia (17-14) and the United States over Argentina (21-19).

The semi-finals are on Monday morning (NZT) followed by the afternoon final.

It was vast improvement from New Zealand's final pool match on Sunday, when they were upset 12-10 by Argentina.

The Kiwis had already secured a spot in the last eight after beating Kenya 24-7 and Russia 19-5 in their first two pool matches.

New Zealand were fourth coming into the fifth round of the 10-leg world series.

They are 29 points behind South Africa, who have won three tournaments.
