All Whites assistant coach Alex Armstrong has resigned after two years with the New Zealand national soccer side.

The resignation was announced in a brief statement from New Zealand Football, which said Armstrong would not be available for interviews.

All Whites coach Anthony Hudson said he wished Armstrong well for the future and thanked him for his contribution to New Zealand soccer.

The NZF statement said Armstrong played a material supporting role in the recent development of the All Whites, culminating in New Zealand winning the Oceania Nations Cup and qualifying for the 2017 Confederations Cup.
