All Whites learn Oceania World Cup pathway

NZ NewswireNZ Newswire 7/07/2016

New Zealand have been drawn with New Caledonia and Fiji for the next stage of Oceania qualifying for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

The third stage of qualifying, comprising the six teams who advanced through the Nations Cup tournament in Papua New Guinea in June, will be staged from March to September next year.

The teams in the All Whites' group will play each other twice on a home and away basis with the winners set to face the group B victors from Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands and Tahiti.

The winners of that two-leg Oceania final play-off will advance to the inter-confederation play-offs in November against the fifth-placed team from the South American (Conmebol) confederation.
