Alleged BOP Caltex robbers caught

Three people allegedly involved in an aggravated robbery at a Tauranga Caltex service station have been caught.

Police were called at around 6:45am on Thursday to a Tauriko service station on State Highway 29 where three people had assaulted an attendant and demanded cash and cigarettes.

The three offenders drove away in a stolen car.

Two men and one woman were arrested a short time later in relation to the robbery, and charges are expected to be laid later on Thursday.

The attendant was take to hospital but has since been released.
