Another strong poll result for National

With the election 100 days away National has had another strong poll result, hitting 47.4 per cent in the Newshub Reid Research survey.

That's a rise of just under one percentage point, but it's in stark contrast to Labour which shed 4.4 points and slumped to 26.4 per cent - the lowest it's been in the Newshub poll since the last election.

A week ago, a 1News Colmar Brunton poll gave National 49 per cent and Labour 30 per cent.

In the latest poll the Greens have gained just over a point to reach 12.5 per cent, with NZ First also picking up support to reach 9.4 per cent.

The results mean a Labour/Greens alliance would hold 38.9 per cent, well behind National.

Translated into seats in parliament, National would have 58 and would win a fourth term with the help of its current partners ACT, United Future and the Maori Party.

Labour, the Greens and NZ First would have a combined total of 60 seats - not enough for a majority.
