Another Wellington building coming down

A 10-storey office building in Wellington is to be demolished, more than five months after the initial quake, the building owner spokesman says.

Revera House, on Mulgrave Street, was damaged during the November Kaikoura earthquake and was "too expensive to repair", Mark Crosswell told RNZ.

The building, formerly home to the Education Review Office, would cost just as much to repair the building as to build an exact replica, he said.

Another 10-storey office block on Molesworth Street, the Reading Cinema complex car park building in Courtenay Place, and part of the Queensgate shopping mall in Lower Hutt have also been demolished following the quake.

Next on the list for demolition is Defence House on Aitken Street.
