Argentina have racked up another win over the All Blacks sevens with a narrow 12-10 victory in pool play at the world sevens series tournament in Las Vegas.

The Kiwis will meet England in the quarter-finals after they launched a late comeback to beat the United States 24-17 in their final pool match.

Trailing 0-12 at halftime against Argentina, the All Blacks Sevens launched the late comeback with tries to stand-in skipper DJ Forbes and Isaac Te Tamaki.

Neither of Vilimoni Koroi's conversion attempts fell kindly, and Argentina held on for the win.

It's the second time in a month they have beaten New Zealand, after edging the All Blacks Sevens 17-12 in the play-off for fifth last month in Wellington.

The Kiwis had already secured a spot in the last eight after beating Kenya 24-7 and Russia 19-5 in their first two pool matches.

New Zealand were fourth coming into the fifth round of the 10-leg world series. They are 29 points behind South Africa, who have won three tournaments.
