Armed men on run in Taranaki

Phillip Free Knuckey and James Anderson Thomson are believed to be trying to evade capture, police said on Thursday.

"Knuckey and Thomson are both believed to be in possession of firearms, considered dangerous and should not to be approached."

Late last month police said they were looking for Knuckey, 41, who was wanted for arrest and faces charges of threatening to kill, possession of an offensive weapon and assault with a weapon.

He was described as Maori, about 180cm tall and of medium build.

He lives in Waitara and has contacts throughout Taranaki.
