Arrest after Queenstown hit and run

A man has been arrested following a hit and run in Queenstown.

A pedestrian was taken to Dunedin Hospital with serious injuries after being struck by a station wagon near Adelaide Street at about 10pm on Friday, police said.

The driver allegedly fled the scene.

Police now say a 33-year-old man has been arrested and charged with failing to stop to check on the person and driving dangerously.

He will appear in Queenstown District Court on Monday.
