Four teens have been arrested after a spree of ram-raid burglaries in Canterbury.

Police say the Z Energy Petrol Station on Harewood Road in Christchurch and the Ferrymead Bottle Store were both burgled after being driven into by a Mazda Familia in the earlier hours of Saturday.

That followed another ram-raid at a Kaiapoi petrol station at 1.45am on Friday.

Following several abandoned police pursuits, police say a large team was brought on and managed to find some of those involved, along with recovering most of the stolen property.

The four youths, aged 14 and 16, are set to appear in the Youth Court.

Police this week said they were concerned about a rise in the number of robberies at petrol stations and dairies selling cigarettes, along with bars and hotel.
