Nearly $2 million worth of methamphetamine has been seized coming through Auckland International Airport in high-heel shoes, car lights, metal cylinders and tattoo stickers, officials say.

Police and Customs revealed the seizure following the arrest of two men and a woman in south Auckland raids.

Over the past two months Customs seized five air freight consignments. Almost 2kg of P was found hidden in a variety of goods including a golf putt box, car lights, metal cylinders, women's high heel shoes, and a soap box amongst stacks of tattoo stickers.

Customs investigations manager Maurice O'Brien says the drugs were discovered following risk targeting and profiling work.

The three people, all aged in their 30s, have been charged with five counts of importing methamphetamine.
