Two men have been arrested over a spate of burglaries on the outskirts of Invercargill during the Christmas and New Year Period.

The men aged 37 and 24 face charges related to the burglary of more than 10 Southland farm properties in which items were taken from sheds and a house.

They have appeared in the Invercargill District Court and been remanded to reappear on January 31.

A 15-year-old male is due to appear in the youth court on Friday, while a woman aged 24 will reappear in court on January 26 charged with receiving stolen property.

Items stolen included meat from freezers, power tools, chainsaws, lawnmowers and electronic goods, police say.
