ATP success for three NZ doubles players

New Zealand's three leading doubles players are through to quarter-finals at ATP tournaments on different continents.

Third-seeded Kiwi Michael Venus and his Swedish partner Robert Lindstedt beat Briton Jonathan Marray and Canada's Adil Shamasdin 6-0 7-6 in the round of the 16 at the Open Sud de France tournament in Montpellier.

Their next opponents are unseeded German brothers Mischa and Alexander Zverev.

At the same tournament, fourth-seeded New Zealander Marcus Daniell and Brazilian Marcelo Demoliner received a bye to the quarter-finals, where they face French pair Julien Benneteau and Jeremy Chardy.

Kiwi Artem Sitak and American Nicholas Monroe are third seeds at the Ecuador Open in Quito.

They scraped past Peru's Sergio Galdos and Indian Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan 7-6 7-6 and will next meet wildcards Gonzalo Escobar (Colombia) and Juan Pablo Paz (Argentina).
