A man wanted by Northland police for allegedly brandishing a firearm during a traffic stop has been arrested by chance nearly a month later during a raid on an Auckland house.

Levi Reeves, 25, was arrested during a raid at a New Lynn house on Wednesday, police say.

They were carrying out a search warrant on the property on unrelated matters.

Reeves has been charged with three counts of using a firearm against officers and breaching court release conditions.

The charges relate to an incident in Whangarei on December 9, where police allege Reeves presented a firearm at officers during a vehicle stop.

Reeves will appear in Waitakere District Court on Thursday.
