The Fire Service was alerted about 7pm on Wednesday and 10 crews were sent out.

The fire was contained in an air conditioning unit on the third floor of the main building, spokeswoman Megan Ruru says.

It was extinguished with dry powder, the upper floors of the building were checked and cleared, and the hospital is running as normal.
