Experienced shooter Susan Pettitt will lead Australia on its mission to topple champions New Zealand and complete netball's 'grand slam' at the Fast5 Netball World Series in Melbourne.

Australia will vie to become holders of all four international tournaments if successful at the short format tournament on October 29-30.

The Diamonds' trophy cabinet houses the recent Quad Series, Netball World Cup and is all but guaranteed to retain the Constellation Cup yet it has never featured the Fast5 silverware.

New Zealand have won five of the six tournaments, including the last three.

New captain Pettitt says Australia are hungry to claim a maiden title and complete netball's clean sweep.

"We've come close but the Silver Ferns have just nabbed us in the grand final the last two times, so we're looking to go one better," she said.

"It's not just the Kiwis to beat, Malawi and South Africa are also really strong in this format of the game. It's going to be an interesting competition."

The competition features five players-a-side, shortened quarters, multiple point shots and power plays.

Australia squad:

Susan Pettitt (capt), Erin Bell, Courtney Bruce, Paige Hadley, Kate Moloney, Caitlyn Nevins, Kate Shimmin, Caitlin Thwaites, Gretel Tippett, Jo Weston.
