Axe robberies leave Chch staff shaken

NZ NewswireNZ Newswire 30/08/2016

Staff at two Christchurch dairies have been left shaken after robberies by an axe-wielding man.

Police say a man carrying an axe demanded money from staff at the Curletts Road dairy at about 1pm on Monday.

Less than three hours later, two men, one with an axe, assaulted someone at the Campus Corner dairy on Rountree Street and demanded money from the staff.

Workers at the store were left shaken, police said.

They believed the two robberies were related and hope CCTV footage from the first robbery will help identify the man.
