The Lower Hutt woman who left little to the imagination when she put a patch of her backside up for auction will travel to the home of strange news, Florida, for it to be tattooed to plug a cover of John Lennon's Imagine.

Bailey Price, 20, advertised a 9cm by 9cm piece of her derriere as a blank space on Trade Me earlier this month, hoping to raise cash to pay off her debts.

The winning bid was worth $6500 and it now appears to have been made on behalf of Miami man "Sir" Ivan Wilzig, whose website Page Six describes as a "banking heir-turned-electronic dance music maestro".

Wilzig, 60, wants the tattoo to promote his latest single, a cover of John Lennon's Imagine, because Yoko Ono won't give him permission to make a video.

"I don't want to go to New Zealand. I'll fly her to Miami, where they have the best tattoo parlors in the world," Wilzig said on the website.

An already tattooed Miss Price, who also goes by the name Bailey Eden, confirmed the Miami trip in a social media post, which also delivered a rebuke to those who had abused her.

"Who ever said blondes are dumb? I'm getting a tattoo of a rainbow on my ass and have received my $6500 already. That means debt free and car upgrade. Oh and just to throw it out there I'm getting flown to Miami mid Jan by the winning bidder."

In 2012, another Lower Hutt woman Tina Beznec ran a similar auction, which resulted in her getting a thigh tattoo advertising a local strip club for more than $12,000.
