A key figure in the Blues' line-out, Bekhuis missed the 43-5 defeat to the Lions in Johannesburg last weekend because of a calf strain.

He replaces Hoani Matenga, who goes to the bench.

Coach Tana Umaga has made two other changes to his starting 15 for the match on Saturday, both in the backs.

Halfback Billy Guyton will wear the No.9 jersey for just the second time this year, taking over from Bryn Hall.

Former NRL player Matt Duffie comes in on the right wing for the in-form Melani Nanai, who has been moved to fullback.

The Blues and the Force sit at the bottom of their respective national conferences, but the Auckland-based club still have an outside chance of making the play-offs.

Blues: Melani Nanai, Matt Duffie, George Moala, Piers Francis, Tevita Li, Ihaia West, Billy Guyton, Steven Luatua, Tanerau Latimer, Jerome Kaino, Josh Bekhuis, Patrick Tuipulotu, Charlie Faumuina, James Parsons (capt), Sam Prattley.

Reserves: Quentin MacDonald, Ofa Tu'ungafasi, Sione Mafileo, Hoani Matenga, Kara Pryor, Bryn Hall, Matt McGahan, Male Sa'u.
