Belarusian drug cheat Nadzeya Ostapchuk has lost another Olympic medal after being stripped of her shot put bronze from the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

It is the second Olympic medal taken from Ostapchuk after she denied New Zealand shot putter Valerie Adams gold in London in 2012, but was later stripped of it for testing positive for an anabolic steroid.

Ostapchuk's latest disqualification came on Thursday when a retest of her 2008 sample also tested positive for anabolic steroids.

The two women who finished in silver and bronze behind Adams at the 2008 Olympics have now both been disqualified from the event.

China also faces a one-year ban from international weightlifting competitions after three of its athletes were stripped of their 2008 golds on Thursday following retests.

The IOC keeps athlete samples for up to a decade to allow it to use new testing methods to catch drug cheats.
