Northern Districts allrounder Anton Devcich is unlikely to be available for New Zealand this summer after suffering a knee injury.

The 31-year-old suffered ligament damage during last week's Plunket Shield first class match against Auckland.

A Northern Districts press release said the left-arm spinner and lively batsman has been ruled out for the remainder of the season.

Devcich has played 16 limited overs internationals, most recently playing in two ODIs against India in the tour there last month.

Meanwhile, another Northern Districts and Black Caps allrounder, Corey Anderson, has been sidelined from this week's match against Central Districts.

The release said Anderson was unavailable due to back discomfort, which was being assessed.

The 25-year-old has spent much of 2016 recovering from back pain. He played four ODIs but only bowled in one of them.

Anderson bowled in one of the two Plunket Shield games he has played in this month.
