Black Caps cruise to warm-up win

The Black Caps have won their three-day warm-up tour game against Zimbabwe A in Harare by 259 runs.

A solid all-round effort wrapped up the win at the Harare Sports Club, with five of New Zealand's seven bowlers picking up wickets as the Kiwis dispatched Zimbabwe A for 173 in their second innings.

Tim Southee led the way with 2-15 off six overs, and was backed up by braces from Mitch Santner, Ish Sodhi and Neil Wagner.

Trent Boult also grabbed the wicket of opener Nkosana Mpofu for six for figures of 1-21.

The Black Caps had declared their first innings closed on 345-7, then ran through their opponents for 114, legspinner Ish Sodhi's 4-18 backed up by contributions from Southee (2-31) and Doug Bracewell (2-24).

The Kiwis declared their second innings at 201-7, Santner top scoring with 51 before retiring after being promoted to open.

Tom Latham also retired, for 24, as did captain Kane Williamson on 49.

The first of two Tests against Zimbabwe starts in Bulawayo on Thursday.
